Mas Bruguière - La Grenadière
AOP PIC SAINT LOUP - RED (2023) - 75CL
Born from a blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache, La Grenadière displays a deep, intense garnet color with rich purple hues.
Sourced from the estate’s finest parcels and oldest vines, rooted in the family’s historic terroir, this cuvée is the result of dedicated craftsmanship and the expression of an exceptional origin. The nose is intense and complex, revealing beautifully ripe fruit, with notes of red berries, liquorice, and an overall impression of richness and velvety depth.
On the palate, the wine is structured, dense, and profound. It reflects the remarkable freshness of this unique terroir, located at the foothills of the Pic Saint-Loup. The slow ripening conditions of this area allow for a perfect balance between volume and density, refined tannic power, and a generous, vibrant fruit profile.
Perfectly ripe tannins, refined through 18 months of aging in oak, contribute to a long, harmonious finish and excellent aging potential. Optimal drinking window: 3 to 15 years.
Best served at 16–18°C (61–64°F) after decanting. Its depth and structure make it an ideal partner for refined gastronomic dishes such as venison fillet with grand veneur sauce, wild boar stew, seven-hour roasted leg of lamb, duck shepherd’s pie, pieds paquets with green lentils from Le Puy, or roast beef fillet with ratte potatoes.
Grape varieties: 90% Syrah, 10% Grenache (old vines)
Pic Saint-Loup terroir:
Grenache & Mourvèdre: soft limestone scree at the lower slopes
Syrah: clay-limestone marl soils
Aging: 18 months in large oak casks (foudres) and wooden vats
